No Ninja Turtles for These Guys!

That’s why I think it’s so important to support the Boy Scouts. They keep kids from going bad, like THIS.

Testing Windows Live Writer

October 1st, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in General

BigBoneWidge I just thought I would give Windows Live Writer a try to see what it was like.  The advantage to me would be that I can compose posts offline, then post them when I get a chance to connect the laptop.  I have no idea what I am doing.

Wow. I couldn’t have said it better myself. Hmmm….a heartbeat away from being the President of the United States? She does have very stylish glasses, and the cutest accent. Thanks to Dooce!

How to Text on a Motorcycle

September 3rd, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Cars, Humour, Video

Okay, it’s not the texting part that freaks me out, it’s controlling the motorcycle in traffic while laying back on the seat.  It doesn’t even look like he’s using his feet.  (Okay, I know how to ride a bicycle no-hands, but laying back with your feet up?  I’m not so sure.)

This sure isn’t Toronto!  If people ignored the white lines like that in Toronto, the guys with the camera would have be screaming and cursing.  Apparently the lines are suggestions only!

Couldn’t help but add one of my favourite traffic videos. Apparently, all traffic regulations are suggestions!

Nikon D90 Is Out

August 28th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

I might as well jump on the bandwagon!  The new Nikon D90 is out, and looks really impressive.   Check out the video by Chase Jarvis:

Henry’s is taking pre-orders now for the D90 + the new 18-105VR lens for $1449.95 Cdn.

Here’s the official word:

Combining 12.3-megapixel image quality inherited from the award-winning D300 with groundbreaking features, the D90’s breathtaking, low-noise image quality is further advanced with EXPEED image processing. Split-second shutter response and continuous shooting at up to 4.5 frames-per-second provide the power to capture fast action and precise moments perfectly, while Nikon’s exclusive Scene Recognition System contributes to faster 11-area autofocus performance, finer white balance detection and more. The D90 delivers the control passionate photographers demand, utilizing comprehensive exposure functions and the intelligence of 3D Colour Matrix Metering II. Stunning results come to life on a 3-inch 920,000-dot colour LCD monitor, providing accurate image review, Live View composition and brilliant playback of the D90’s cinematic-quality 24-fps HD D-Movie mode.

Photosynth – Neato!

August 25th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Computers, Panoramas, Video

Photosynth.net from Microsoft Live Labs:

Using techniques from the field of computer vision, Photosynth examines images for similarities to each other and uses that information to estimate the shape of the subject and the vantage point the photos were taken from. With this information, we recreate the space and use it as a canvas to display and navigate through the photos.
